Internet/Course Issues - UPDATED Nov. 29, 2023

One of the main causes of any tech issues in the E.P.I.C. or the Event U courses can actually be your connection to the Internet. When you have a slow, or unreliable connection, online SCORM compliant courses may experience some issues. Sometimes, you may not even realize that you have a connectivity problem until you try and use synchronous learning or online streaming services.

If you have a brief drop in the internet it can cause issues. An example is Zoom freezing. When this happens in SCORM compliant courses, such as EPIC, you will need to refresh your browser and view the slide over. The software is written where it tracks slides for completion and if the internet drops it does not count that slide as completed if it is not. At times you will need to log out and back in but that is rare. This can affect audio as well.

SOLUTIONS: Check your Internet bandwidth using an online speed test, such as nperf, Speedtest, or Comparitech. Try to connect directly via Wired (if your internet router has wired ports). Try bringing your computer or mobile device closer to the WiFi router or access point in your home or office. Ask your internet company to test the drops in your service for the past week. Maybe, try taking the course on campus or another location that has a stronger faster internet connection if you are having a lot of issues.

Of course, email us if you do the above and are still having issues. Please email us directly with the Mod #, Part #, and Slide # so we can test it for you.

 Thank you & Enjoy!!!
